about this image
This is the earliest composite in my entire portfolio, created in 2009 for a Christian guitarist. I hadn't ever tried anything of this nature before, so it definitely pushed my creative boundaries and helped me gain an appreciation for the amazing power of Photoshop. Little did I knew it at the time, but compositing would eventually become a passion of mine, and really help me make blaze a new trail in the world of music photography.

I used a channel mask on a simple Levels adjustment layer in Photoshop to clean up the background, and extracted the guitar with the Pen tool. Subtle shadows under the subject and guitar were added for realism.
